Purpose of the role:
BIL Lease is hiring a Head of Finance to join its Finance team. The Head of Finance operates within the Finance function of a leasing entity and reports to the Head of Company and the Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
The role covers the full perimeter of accounting activities, ensuring the overall management, accuracy, and compliance of the accounting function, including financial reporting under LUX GAAP and IFRS, regulatory obligations, internal control framework, and budgeting.
The position plays a key role in driving continuous improvement of accounting processes, systems, and governance. Acting as a business partner to senior management and Group Finance, the Head of Finance provides reliable financial information to support planning, performance monitoring, and decision-making.
Key accountabilities:
Financial Reporting & Closing:
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts under LUX GAAP and IFRS
- Ensure timely and accurate closing processes
- Produce statutory financial statements and regulatory reports
- Act as main point of contact for external auditors
- Ensure reconciliation between general ledger, sub-ledgers, and leasing systems
Leasing Accounting:
- Supervise accounting treatment of financial leasing operations
- Ensure proper handling of residual values, depreciation, and interest recognition
- Ensure compliance with IFRS 16 and local regulations
- Monitor provisions, impairments, and portfolio valuation
Systems & Data Management:
- Ensure governance of accounting flows linked to Cassiopae system
- Guarantee integrity and consistency of financial data
- Participate in system enhancements, testing, and parameterization
- Contribute to automation and process improvement initiatives
Regulatory & Tax Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with Luxembourg accounting, VAT, and tax requirements
- Coordinate tax reporting with internal and external stakeholder
Cash Flow Management:
- Monitor daily cash inflows and outflows
- Prepare short-, medium-, and long-term cash flow forecasts
- Manage financing needs (loans, credit lines, etc.)
- Optimize liquidity management
Management Control:
- Develop, monitor, and analyze budgets and forecasts
- Set up and track key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Analyze variances between actual and forecast figures
- Produce regular financial reports for management
- Contribute to the development of the financial strategy
Internal Control & Risk:
- Maintain and strengthen the internal control framework
- Ensure implementation of internal and external audit recommendations
- Identify and mitigate accounting and financial risks
Process Improvement:
- Optimize accounting processes and reporting efficiency
- Contribute to transformation and digitalization initiatives
