Can you tell us more about the « Young Sales Program »?
The « Young Sales Program » is an innovative initiative for young bankers with a first experience in the world of finance and who wish to give a commercial orientation to their career.
This program offers them the opportunity to pursue a career in the world of Wealth Management, Corporate & Institutional Banking and Retail Banking while having a solid training path.
How will this program take place?
It is a 15-month structured pathway which will be followed by a permanent position as within one of the business lines (Wealth Management, Corporate & Institutional Banking or Retail Banking) in order to take over ultimately the management of a portfolio of private or corporate clients. It includes:
“On-the-job” trainings structured in 5 phases:
- 9 months at the Headquarter of BIL where the young talents will be trained in the areas of Finance (3 months), Compliance (3 months) and Risk Management (3 months);
- 6 months within 2 “Front” business lines (2*3 months in Wealth Management, Corporate & Institutional Banking or Retail Banking).
Combined with a training & development program
Once this induction program completed, the person will take over a position of Relationship Manager or Corporate Advisor at the Wealth Management, Corporate & Institutional Banking or Retail Banking according to the needs of the bank.
Who this program has been made for?
Every person freshly graduated (in Finance, Economics or Business Administration) who benefits from a first experience in the financial or banking sector (1 year to 3 years experience) and with the ambition to build up a career in a “sales oriented” position.
Being multilingual is essential for the role: French, English and a third language (one of the EU language or Chinese) are required to speak easily with the customers. Luxembourgish will be considered as a strong asset as it is necessary to perform a “customer facing” role in some departments.
Personality and motivation are just as important to getting the job! Relationship and commercial skills, sense of responsibilities and discretion are key-competencies to have.
