The satisfaction of our customers is at the heart of BIL's strategy, as is the satisfaction and well-being of our teams. We believe in the importance of investing in our human capital, and have various initiatives to support this goal: from the onboarding of new employees to maintaining and developing their skills, we are committed to providing a positive and enriching experience for all.

Welcoming you to BIL - onboarding

Onboarding at BIL is an integration process that offers new employees a human experience rich in sharing, friendliness and information.

The welcome day

You will be warmly greeted on your first day with breakfast and a welcome kit. The exchange is then based on sharing how-to information and continues with a tour of the premises. The morning is centred on presenting BIL as an employer that encourages the development of its employees, and invites new recruits to discover the bank’s flagship initiatives in terms of training and skills development.

The second half-day of integration

During the first month of your arrival you will benefit from a second morning of integration dedicated to imparting knowledge about BIL as a financial institution and providing explanations related to its strategic challenges.

"I really enjoyed the onboarding at BIL and especially the presentations given during the second half-day of integration. They allow those who, like me, have just arrived in the Grand Duchy, to better understand the bank and its environment. This format helps to give an insight into the BIL culture that is important to start absorbing from the outset."

BIL Academy - Growing together

BIL invests in people through this corporate academy and focuses on the empowerment of employees’ development The objective of the academy is to provide continuous improvement for both personal and business skills. Behind we stimulate the Growth Mindset through different initiatives.

In order to stay ahead and relevant, there is a constant adaptation of the training plans to meet market and customer needs.

A pilot initiative has been set up for Retail & Digital Banking and will soon be extended to other business environments.

Within the BIL Academy, other kind of trainings are offered such as: “Lunch & Learn” conferences, coaching, elearning or classrooms sessions that can be  specific or compulsory. BIL provides all of its employees with a complete training offer and is open to specific requests.

Our bank has recently been using a feedback-based model as a replacement for past appraisal models and is seeking to promote a culture of feedback. The goal is to facilitate constructive exchanges between employees and managers throughout the year, and also encourage peer feedback.

Feedback is a tool for individual and collective development and also for improving performance

“We all need people who will give us feedback. That’s how we improve”.
