PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The combined role of System Engineer & IT Product-Application Owner manages all application lifecycle activities regarding the product/application to ensure stability and performance of the application and drive the continuous improvement and innovation as well as collaborate closely with relevant stakeholders. The focus of the responsibility is in the area of Workplace Platforms (strong focus on Microsoft as core technology). Additional support to be provided for other business enabling platforms.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- IT Product-Application Lifecycle Management: Taking ownership of the end-to-end application lifecycle management including configuration, system administration, deployment of updates and patches, network, access management and retirement of applications with focus on Microsoft core technologies and domain services.
- Release Management: Ensure successful delivery and roll-out of fixes and new product/application functionalities. Help to coordinate change management to ensure the anticipated return of investment / adoption
- Continuous Improvement & Backlog: Continuously monitor and evaluate the product's performance and gather feedback from customers and stakeholders. Use this information to identify opportunities for improvements. Liaise with Product Owner and other stakeholders to keep up to date and define new requirements (product backlog) that could be implemented in the application.
- Support & IT Incident Management: Provide 2nd line support, working together with our 1stlevel support partner for end user support (Hardware and Services). Coordinate incident management.
- Performance Monitoring: Define service with software and service providers and tracks system performance against agreed KPIs to report insights to senior management and other stakeholders and identify areas of improvements.
- Supplier Management: Manage the commercial relationship with suppliers and outsourcing partners to ensure a timely delivery of support service, maintenance activities, and software updates. The responsibility includes licencing negotiations.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with stakeholders to gather feedback, understand their needs to drive the improvement of the application. Regularly communicate application updates and progress to stakeholders.
- Solution Documentation: Ensure the production and maintenance of documentation regarding the application (Architecture Design Document, Solution Blueprint etc.).
