Senior Compliance Officer – Regulatory Compliance (F/M/X, 80-100%)

The Regulatory Compliance
Officer reports directly to the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) BILS and will be
part of a team of 7 Compliance officers based in Zurich, Geneva and Lugano. The Compliance team has an
intercultural and interdisciplinary background and is highly committed to
create and impact a sustainable Compliance culture and to promote the bank’s
core values.

The Regulatory Compliance Officer
will provide advice, guidance and support to the bank’s business in Switzerland
and ensures that the bank operates in line with Swiss laws, its policies and
procedures as well as with Luxembourg/ European regulations, as applicable. He/She
will support the Compliance function in identifying and mitigating risks across
business lines and help to promote a proactive Compliance culture within the
bank. The Regulatory Compliance Officer will be primarily responsible for the
following areas:

FIDLEG/FINSA, MIFID, Market Abuse,
Cross-border and Data Protection.

The Regulatory Compliance Officer
will also be appointed as Data Protection Officer (DPO) of the bank and play a
crucial role in ensuring compliance with data protection regulations, namely
GDPR and Swiss FADP. The DPO will be responsible for developing and
implementing data protection policies, providing guidance and training to staff
members and acting as the primary point of contact for data protection matters.
In the role as DPO, the Regulatory Compliance Officer acts independently and
impartially from his/her other Compliance functions and works closely with the
Group’s DPO team.

Additional
tasks such as AML/KYC related assessments of wealth management clients,
identification of suspicious activtiy and oversight of the FATCA/QI/CRS framework
execution may be allocated taking into consideration the skills and experience of
the candidate and resource availability. 

Your next challenge: 

  • Responsible for all regulatory Compliance related matters, in particular FIDLEG/FINSA, MIFID, Market Abuse, Cross Border and Data Protection
  • Provide guidance and advice to Business Units, stakeholders and senior management
  • Manage and contribute to a variety of Compliance projects and new business initiatives with a focus on regulatory implementation and change management
  • Propose Compliance framework, process and policy enhancements and participate in strategic projects of the bank to ensure that all relevant Compliance areas are covered
  • Conduct the annual Market Abuse Risk Assessment and contribute to the Compliance Activity Report and other risk assessments
  • Implementation and regular updates/enhancements of the governance framework, policies, procedures and control framework
  • Deputize the CCO in senior management committees and project committees in relation to topics under the responsibility of the Regulatory Compliance Officer
  • Monitor regulatory developments and requirements. Conduct regulatory gap assessments and define and execute pertaining action plans
  • Independently manage and oversee execution of the Compliance Monitoring Plan with regards to the responsible areas
  • Manage and/or contribute to reviews by internal and external Audit
  • Close collaboration with BIL Luxembourg on Group Compliance matters and reporting
  • Conduct training sessions on covered topics as needed
  • Depending on the candidate, team management responsibilities and leadership in other Compliance areas may be considered
